Next Club Event:
Sunday August 17th.

A Sunday Afternoon Drive and BBQ.

We will be meeting at Tim Horton’s at the corner of Cedar Hill Cross Rd. and Shelbourne St.
The Driving section starts at 2:15 and lasts about an hour or so, depending on how long we hang out at a couple of stops.
NO QUESTIONS TO ANSWER, (before or during the drive) NO NEED FOR A NAVIGATOR
Just a follow the car in front of you type of drive.
The BBQ at the home of  Mike and Deb Smith starting after the drive approximately 4:00 till 7:00pm
Just an up date, to let everyone know we have changed the BBQ portion slightly. Our host has suggested you leave your plates and cutlery at home and bring your own meat plus a salad, appetizers or buns to share. Mike will be providing ice cream and fresh fruit for dessert, a hot BBQ and all the plates etc. Please bring your own food, beverage, cutlery, plates and glasses etc.
Looking forward to see everyone.

PS.

Thanks
Also:
As a non club event, The Sidney Fire Department is celebrating 100 years of service this Saturday August 2nd.
With a Fire truck parade down Beacon Ave. starting at 11:00 am.
Followed by a show and shine etc.
Close to 70 fire trucks are registered for the parade!
I have never seen that many big red trucks together before, it should be quite a show and a proud moment for Richard.

Portland, OR  ABFM at the Portland International Raceway 29 Aug – 1 Sep 2014
The upcoming Portland ABFM is a lot of fun, so book early so you have a room as they go fast. Here is the link for the Portland ABFM  http://abfm-pdx.com/2014 The plan so far is to depart Victoria on Friday. We will take the non I-5 route meaning the Hwy 101, 8, 12 , etc. down to the hotel. Final route has not been yet determined, but it won’t be long before we have it. This route takes about 7.5 hours including a lunch stop. We will arrive about 3-4 pm and there will be a registration pick up and social reception later at the PIR (Portland International Raceway) in the evening.

We do not usually partake in the Saturday BBQ Dinner, as we usually prefer to go out as a group to eat somewhere else. We will be staying at the Days Inn 9930 North Whitaker Road, Portland, OR 97217, United States http://www.daysinn.ca/hotels/oregon/portland/days-inn-portland/hotel-overview

Phone +1 503-289-1800 If you are planning to attend, email Terry at Terry_Hogan@shaw.ca or phone 250 472-1550.  If I do not answer, leave a message and I will get back to you. Offer any suggestions or thoughts about this trip. If you know anyone else wanting to join our team, tell them they are very welcome to join us.  Please ensure that your car is capable of making the trip.
